E-Commerce

E-commerce (electronic-commerce) basically refers to business done on the Internet. So e-commerce means buying and selling products and services online. Amazon.com and e-bay.com are major e-commerce websites. The two major forms of e-commerce are Business-to-Consumer (B2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B). The most typical form of e-commerce is a shopping cart that allows users to select products and pay for them by credit card. Main e-commerce requirements are a shopping cart, merchant account, processing gateway and secured server. Shopping cart is an online catalog that allows the buyers to select and keep track of their selected products. Merchant account is needed for the financial processing of credit cards. Processing Gateway is the service that enables the transactions from your shopping cart to your merchant account. A Digital Certificate/Secured Server encrypts information to provide secure transaction processing.
